Today in Ridgewood! Martin Scorsese Films “The Irishman”!

The Irishman, a Martin Scorsese’s gangster movie, films in Ridgewood today. The film is based off of the non-fiction book I Heard You Paint Houses. The book is written by author Charles Brandt. It is about Frank Sheeran, a real life labor union official who was accused of having links to the Bufalino crime family.
Scorsese is set to direct the movie regarding Sheeran’s life. Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci are starring. Martin Scorsese is a famous American director and has been in the film industry for over 50 years. Much of his work details in modern crime and gang conflict. Supposedly it will be streaming on Netflix around 2019.
Today, the film will shoot on Himrod Street between Tonsor Street and Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood, Queens. It will be an interior and exterior shot at “Franks house”. There will be “plate shots with handheld photographer on sidewalk and interior of building”. They requested permission to clear parking on Himrod Street for the film. They will be filming from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
