This Weekend! Super Secret Party in Area Helps Super Awesome Charity

Something is going down in Ridgewood this weekend. An event called “Dark Before Dawn”. It will be somewhere around Ridgewood or at least in the vicinity. We know it’s in Queens, 0.6 miles from the Myrtle/Wyckoff train station. They had a preview event last Saturday. Check out photos from their Instagram page below.

As read on Nonsense NYC, they will offer immersive experiences and intimate performances. They will be serving gluten-free and vegetarian options in addition to traditional grub. There will be wine, cocktails, and beer.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Immigrant Justice Corps. Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) is a national program that recruits talented lawyers and college graduates from around the country and partners them with New York’s leading non-profit legal services providers and community-based organizations serving New York City, Long Island, Lower Hudson Valley and New Jersey. Together, they offer a broad range of immigration assistance including naturalization, deportation defense, and affirmative applications for asylum seekers, juveniles, and victims of crime, domestic violence or human trafficking.

The event will have timed ticketing, but the performances will go on until midnight. Because this event is taking place in our residential neighborhood, they stated they will do their absolute best to keep arrivals discreet and support the community. When you purchase your ticket, you will receive directions on how to find the location.

Here is a summary of the event:

“In these dark times, we try to see the light. It may be distant, a mere glimmer, but the laws of celestial bodies promise revolution; that light comes after dark. If you choose to focus on the light that peeks out from the horizon, that is your choice, but I’m inviting you to explore the darkness with me. Dark Before Dawn allows us to find comfort, even relish, in the frustration and anguish on the long road ahead of us. Explore a vacant apartment building to discover speakeasies, immersive experiences, and intimate performances.”
