Two Weeks Full of Festivals in Ridgewood!
Missing summer vacation already? Well, it’s going to be an exciting two weeks! We have counted five festivals that you can go to! We cannot wait to share them with you! They all have food, fun, and some of them are even kid friendly! So let’s go! Get outside before it gets chilly again!
1. The Fresh Pond Rd. Italian Festival
The Italian Festival is back on Fresh Pond Road for its 22nd year! The festival will happen nightly from Sept. 3rd to the 6th. The Federazione Italo-Americana di Brooklyn and Queens sponsors this annual fair. The fest will be located along Fresh Pond Road between Menahan and Woodbine. The times that it starts will supposedly be from 5:30 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, September 6th, from 2 to 10 p.m.
2. Kunstfest at Bierleichen
Independent film studio Troma, German heavy metal bar hall Bierleichen are proud to announce their debut art, film, and beer festival: Kunstfest! (Kunst is German for art.) Free entry! It is to be held Sunday, September 6 from 3:30 pm – 10 pm at Bierleichen (582 Seneca Ave, Ridgewood, NY 11385), the festival will feature a screening of Troma’s latest Blu-ray release, “Extreme Jukebox,” a reading from Troma’s sci-fi satire “Pests,” by Ridgewood resident and Tromaville’s own Jordan Young, and live music from The Shook Ones.
3. Bushwig at the Onderdonk House
Bushwig is New York City’s annual festival of Drag, queer performance & music. It was founded by Horrorchata (Matty Beats) & Babes Trust (Simon Leahy) in 2012. There will be over 150 drag queens and 20 live bands. It will be held at the historic Onderdonk House from 2pm-10pm; Saturday September 12th & Sunday 13th. Located at the Onderdonk House at 18-20 Flushing Ave, Ridgewood, NY 11385!
4. Sunday at the Ridgewood Market
Ridgewood Market is having it’s first market since June! Located at Gottscheer Hall there will be over 40 vendors, food, vintage, antique, handmade, grub, live music, and more! Oh yeah! There will be brunch, alcohol, and German beer! It is kid friendly and date friendly! It is on Sunday, September 13th from 11AM to 5PM! Location is Gottscheer Hall, 657 Fairview Avenue Ridgewood, NY 11385. Between Linden and Gates!
5. Myrtle Avenue Street Fair
The Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District is having it’s annual September street fair. It is on Myrtle Avenue and runs from Wyckoff Ave to Forest Ave on Sunday, September 13th from 12-6 pm! You can find food and purchase unique items! Oh yeah! There will also be vintage cars and buses.
